Tractor Tyres Direct sells budget crossply turf tyres online for lawn tractors and mowers. These tyres are of traditional crossply (bias) construction.

IMPORTANT: New transport procedures for tyres from the Far East, driven by increased shipping costs, mean many of them are now tightly strapped together in the container and that can result in the tyres arriving with customers in a misshapen state. 

They are perfectly safe, but can be more difficult to fit (many professional tyre fitters have introduced new high-volume inflation systems that help force the sidewalls out to the flanges to deal with this).

We first noticed the problem with Carlisle tyres in the early part of 2024, but the issue disappeared in the summer months. That's because the tyres are much more pliable when they are warm, so bringing them up to room temperature will make it easier to pull them back into shape to get them fitted.

 If this doesn't work, using inner tubes will allow the tyres to be fitted by forcing them back to their working shape.
